The program is designed to be a whole-family intervention program, providing a regular education setting, extensively modified to meet the needs of children with behavior challenges and their families, through providing intense school-based cognitive-behavioral training. Parents are required to attend an 8-week parent training course prior to or concurrent with enrollment, and then attend on-going weekly multiple family groups to support the generalization of the child’s gains and best prepare the family for transition to the next setting. These courses are led by highly trained professionals who also coordinate care for each family and child. Preferred placement is given to siblings of currently enrolled children and to patients who are currently enrolled in our Community Programs (Introduction to Parenting Techniques, Community Social Skills Programs).
